Glenda Eoyang received her doctorate in human systems dynamics from The Union Institute and University in 2001. Her research explored questions about the conditions that made some human systems organize quickly and as expected, while others took a long time to end up in unpleasant or unproductive patterns.
May 6, 2021 What do you do when you cannot see what’s coming at you? In today’s turbulent and unpredictable landscape, you often are asked to make decisions about a future you can neither control nor predict. So, what can you do to step into such a charge with any sense of efficacy or confidence? In these times, it’s so important to maintain perspectives at both scales. What impact will my actions have at the larger picture or scale? What will this action trigger on a more local perspective? Given what I can see in the larger picture and in the smaller picture, what action will be most useful at this moment? Watch this Live Virtual Workshop to explore your options for taking action when you can’t see what’s coming, but you can see both the trees right in front of you and you know the forest that surrounds you.

People everywhere thrive because we see patterns clearly, seek to understand, and act with courage to transform turbulence and uncertainty into possibility for all.
These are unprecedented times, filled with opportunities and challenges. Each of us wants to create a better future, but how?  Every Sunday, the HSD global community explores pathways to resilience—for individuals and organizations. These weekly conversations include learning, reflection, and dialogue across our global network. We explore patterns of systemic change that emerge in turbulence and uncertainty.

Self-care is a walk in the woods. It’s the brisk movement of my feet touching the soil and the soft wind caressing on my skin. It’s the sun on my face and the view from each vista I reach. It’s the feeling of enchantment with the natural world. It’s the conversations I have with you along the way. It is in the way we share and listen to each other, and in the encouragement we give as we walk the trail of life.
