Manage Strategic Change
Consulting is a many-faceted job, particularly in the complexities of today’s organizational landscape. For good consultants, every call brings a new, unique challenge. Each organization has its own assets and barriers. When every situation is so unique, where can you start?
August 4, 2022 In HSD, our first Simple Rule is to “Stand in Inquiry.” It is first on the list for a good reason. In today’s emergent and unpredictable world, there are not many answers we can count on. Yesterday’s answers don’t fit today’s questions, and tomorrow’s answers have not emerged yet. The best we can do is find questions in the moment to open the world, access the resources we need, and look toward a productive future. The HSD global community shares a practice that helps us avoid getting stuck in obsolete answers and moves us always toward the next revealing question. In this LVW, Glenda Eoyang talks with us about what it means to “Stand in inquiry.” Learn to find questions to confront the challenges you face when answers of the past are not good enough for your future.
One thing is the source of the greatest goods and the most vile evils.

Build Adaptive Capacity
Human systems dynamics (HSD) prepares you to thrive in an uncertain future. When you see, understand, and influence complex, wicked issues, nothing is intractable. Join us for a new opportunity we will offer, starting soon and extending through the spring/summer of 2019. Are you interested in becoming a certified HSD Professional, but you cannot commit to the face-to-face portion of the program? If so, we invite you to join us in an all-virtual Human Systems Dynamics (HSD) Professional Certification program.
Lead in Complexity
Wouldn’t it be great if you could “fix” your human system the way you fix your mechanical world? You could take the team in for a tune-up, replace people like parts and improve performance immediately. You could depend on experts and high-quality materials to ensure predictable outcomes.
August 1, 2024 Ideas are important and consciousness is precious, but they are not enough. Real change in the real world requires action. HSD races beyond abstract understanding to influence the choiceful action of thoughtful and committed people. We are committed to searching for ideas that are useful and actions based on truth. In this workshop, Royce Holladay explores the HSD understanding of “true” and “useful.” You will reflect on your own principles and practices to see where you and your communities thrive in the Interdependent Pair of true and useful.
